August 31

I asked Jim to take pictures of me while we were waiting for me to go into surgery this morning. I thought my socks and leg things were hilarious. What I didn't remember was Jim taking this picture of me with the cap on. When I saw this picture I laughed out loud.

August 30

As the summer comes to an end, one of our favorite before bedtime activities will also come to an end. We all like to have a popsicle right before we brush our teeth and go to bed.

August 29

Anna Kate had discovered one of the tastiest dishes, cheese dip. She thoroughly enjoyed "her" very own bowl of cheese dip.

August 28

Since the apples that we picked at the orchard weren't very good we went to Kroger and bought apples to make apple pie. This was a family affair. We all peeled and cored the apples. Jake then helped me cover them in sugar, fix the pie crust and pour all of the ingredients into the pie shell. It was a mess but is was such a fun time.

August 27

Since we were studying apples this week I decided to take the kids to a nearby orchard. The drive down was not fun but we had a great time picking apples and we even grabbed a few peaches. Anna Kate wanted to take the apples out as soon as the boys would put them in the bucket.

I must admit picking the apples was a lot more fun than eating them. The boys picked some really green tart apples. The apples were not good.

August 26

Baby girl was full of smiles again today. Yes, she is carrying a medicine bottle. It is empty and washed out. We are recycling now so she gets all of the bottles out and carries them around.

August 25

My 4 year old enjoying school this morning. He has his seat and he enjoys doing his school work. Monday morning after we finished all that I had planned he looked at me and said, "I thought we were going to do school all day long." I hope and pray that his eagerness to learn continues through May. :-)

August 24

Now anytime I have the camera Anna Kate starts saying, "cheese." Here she is in the tub smiling and saying cheese. She is so full of personality and just a joy.

August 23

We have decided to go ahead and start school this week. I just could not wait until September to start. We are ready for Monday morning. This is our morning board and each boy has a folder with their worksheets for the week inside. We are going to have a great week.

August 22

We went to a birthday party this afternoon and Judd had a great time with the water balloons.

August 21

Jim and I went to the doctor for our first ultrasound and visit today. In just a few minutes, we saw a blob on the screen and tiny heartbeat. Upon seeing the heartbeat, the list of all the concerns started:

1. The heartbeat was a little slow for a 7-week baby. (91 beats per minute)
2. The baby was measuring 6 weeks 3 days instead of 7 weeks 2 days.
3. I was experiencing sac separation.
4. I had two cysts on my ovaries.

We talked to the doctor and she expressed her concerns and we expressed ours since we had already lost one baby and I felt that this would end in the same way. We made an appointment to have a repeat ultrasound in one week. This is a picture of the sonogram picture of the sweet little munchkin.

August 20

This is our new night time activity. Since the pool is getting to cold to go swimming we have started going on a bike ride every night after dinner. Jim pulls the little ones in the trailer while Jake and I ride on our bikes. It is a great family activity.

August 19

They arrived today! All of Jake's school books arrived this morning. We were so excited that we had to open them up and look through them. Too bad we don't start school for a couple more weeks.

August 18

Today we read about a veterinarian taking care of a dog. I remembered seeing a homemade hospital a few weeks ago on a blog so the the boys and I decided to make our own veterinarian hospital. I had great hopes that this would entertain the boys for awhile. We went outside and painted the box, made the doors, waited for it to dry. We had a great time making the hospital but it did not live up to my hopes of entertainment. Now I have a painted box sitting around my living room. So much for that idea........

Band-aids are a staple in our home. We have three little ones so someone always has a scrapped knee, busted toes, or something hurts and a band-aid will make it feel better. Anna Kate is starting to understand that she "needs" a band-aid every time her brothers get one. Her she is admiring her newest band-aid.

August 15

We are enjoying our last days of summer. The weather is getting cooler so the pool is getting too cold to swim, but today is was warm. Jake and a neighbor enjoyed swimming, jumping and flipping. We have great neighbors.

August 14

This is where you can plan to find Judd at almost any time of the day if Jim is home. He is Jim's shadow and it is so sweet to see him following daddy around. He just wants to be near his daddy. Of course, if daddy isn't home mommy is a great substitute and I cherish those moments when he wants me to hold him.

August 13

This week we spent some time learning the Fruit of the Spirit. This is one of the activities we completed.

Anna Kate is constantly bringing us books to read. I love to read to her but when I say "constantly" I really mean constantly. This picture was taken as Jim walked in from work one day. Of course, she met him at the door with a book.

As soon as the boys finished breakfast this morning they started building a fort. They had so much time hiding and playing under the blankets.

August 7

No, she has was not in a boxing match today. We were swimming in the pool today she slipped and hit her eye on the top step. It was so sad. Now she has a bump on her forehead from the falling out of the bucket and a huge black eye. She is still so precious!

August 6

Anna Kate had a blast playing with this water baby, splashing around in the water, and ultimately sitting in the bucket. I must say that as of five seconds after this picture was taken she fell head first out of the bucket. It was so sad.

I think that Judd lays on the ground more than he stands on it. I have so many pictures of him taking a siesta on the ground at the most random times.

August 4

Tonight Jim and I had the pleasure of going on a date night with all of the staff from Crosspointe. It was a fun night. We went to eat and then enjoyed a Redbirds game. I forgot my camera so Jim took a picture of the park as we were leaving.

Judd's new obession these days are motorcyles. We have two motorcyles that he carries every where. It is so sweet to hear him say "where my motocycle mommy?"

This week we started playing a jumping game. I loves for me to name a jump and then watch him do it off of the diving board.
